Hi All. I have enjoyed reading your posts and decided I really need to join. I live in the wonderful hot humid state of south Texas. After much research, it became clear, if I want to raise rabbits outside, they better be TAMUKs.
The experience has gone fairly smoothly so far. I feel blessed that I have avoided many of the issues discussed. Right now, we are butchering for our own consumption, but I would like to expand it into a part-retirement side business. Luckily, Texas state regulation is not too burdensome but from how my proforma income statement looks, I would need to sell A LOT of rabbits. So, I look forward to your suggestion on how to make that work.
