New kits

My doe kaly had 5 babies. This is her second litter. Her first litter was a mess so I hope this one goes better and it’s already promising. Last time kaly stepped on one of her babies (this time she didn’t ) and she didn’t have much milk last time this time all the babies the big and feed. there is two runts that I have to keep a eye on. i will be posting pictures every day like last time and I might even be posting there weights every day if I get the scale working. I think kaly had 2 blues (maybe Vienna), a chin or chestnut Vienna, and two false Charlie somethings.

Everyone is nicely plump even the runt.

Lady a other doe just gave birth in the middle of the day. Here are her babies a few minutes old. I will take better pictures later.

The babies are really small and I’m slightly worried especially because lady doesn’t have much milk. There’s 6. The second picture is of one of lady’s babies (light) and one of Kaly’s babies (dark) and you can see the difference. They are only one day apart and lady only had one more babies then kaly. also, this is Kaly’s second litter and lady’s third.

lady’s babies are still a lot smaller then Kaly’s and Kaly’s babies are really fat and plump. I forgot to mention that both does are the same size.

Chilli’s three month old kit (Quarts, a false Charlie blue doe). she has grown so much in the last months so I figured that I should make a update. She went from 350 grams to 900 grams or more in one month. The first picture is a month old and the second is now.

I have 3 litters that were born August 10, 12 & 13. There was a huge difference in the kit sizes. Now at ten weeks old, 23 kits, there is a pound difference in some of their weights. Even within the same litter there is a pound difference.

Just be sure you keep unlimited food and water available for them.

I am making sure they get as much food and water as they are willing to eat and drink. I have decided that if half of lady’s babies died or\and they are really small at weaning then lady will be dinner.

Unfortunately I think I know why lady’s babies are so small. Scabies. It’s a mite that I have been battling for a while. The worst thing is that she might have gotten it from me. she has had scabies before so maybe i didn’t completely get rid of it. And guess what it my birthday. Best birthday present ever (I’m being sarcastic).

I think in Kaly’s litter there’s a REW or BEW, a English looking blue tort, a Vienna blue, a blue, and a Vienna chestnut. Lady’s are really hard to tell. What do you think?

The blues might be blacks.

Day 6 and 5
the blacks look like they have some ticking but considering their chestnut sibling and their blue bellies I don’t think they are agouti. Does everyone have a picture of a baby steel? Preferably silver and gold tipped.

we have two open eyes! My new color guesses are (Kaly) chestnut VM, white, English blue tort, silver/gold tipped black VM, silver/gold tipped black. (Lady) lilac tort VM, 2 blue tort VM, 2 whites, tort otter false Charlie.
