So the first time Lavender was pregnant she ended up with one kit that was huge and stuck and we had to help - it obviously did not survive.
We bred her again right away, and today at 29 days she waited until we were not home and had 5 kits. Two were cold when we checked (wish we were home when she had them - maybe we could have saved them) she had 1 peanut who was not alive, and two little healthy kits who are happy squirmy and warm.
She did a fantastic job at building her nest, pulled TONS of fur and they seem to be keeping warm. I do have a heating pad on low with a towel in between the nesting box just to keep it warm enough in there for the two of them. I am not sure how long we should do that. I have not seen her go into them yet - I understand they only go in once a day. Being that we were not successful the first litter I am super watchful on this one! I am hoping she knows what she is doing and will feed and care well for them!
