I am going tomorrow to pick up my new Flemish doe.
Although black isn't my favorite color, she seems very sweet, and very large in the pics I've received.

I'd love to post them here, but I asked her to send something to show size, so she had her daughter hold the rabbit and I don't have her permission.

Anyway, daughter is 6, rabbit is 3 months, and it's all daughter can do to hold her. She is pure Flemish, which I've had a miserable time finding around here. Everyone is breeding NZ in, or calling any mutt over 6 lbs a Flemish.

I'll post pics as soon as I can. Why, when I raise quality E-lops, am I so excited to be getting Flemish again? I lost my retiree Flemish earlier this spring, and I've really missed having a loose bunny in the rabbit area.

Congratulations. I see a lot of flemish mix being offered around here. A few breed purebred but most are mixing them.

She sounds really nice! Congrats on finding one.
Flemish are so sweet. I often let mine take turns for a jaunt around the rabbitry.

Picked her up tonight. Really weird night. Been sunny and beautiful all day. Left work and was rained on within 20 minutes. Hasn't stopped raining since. Storms even brought some wind damage. Wow, last night newscast that it was all supposed to clear out of here by noon was way off!

Anyway, got home way too late to take a pic of a black rabbit under stormy skies, but I'll get some soon. Rabbitry is open air, so no lighting.

I have to keep telling myself she is just 3 months old. She's nearly as large as my adult E-lops already....well, some of them anyway.

She's friendly and used to being messed with by kids. It's amazing how they can get one to just submit to whatever happens. I've seen bunnies carried by kids in a way I would never consider, and poor bunny just takes it.

Everything looks good. She's definitely a doe. Good teeth. Clean eyes, nose and ears. Feet well furred. Coat glossy and healthy. If she weren't black, she'd be darn near perfect!

My sister bought a half sister to her. Same Mama, production NZW Papa. Papa was about the biggest NZW I have ever seen. Half sister is chinchilla colored. Very pretty rabbit, but I wanted a pure FG. Can't wait until this weekend when I have more time to mess with her.
