OK guys, I have been working for quite a while to develop a rabbit color guide on my website. :D
I am definitely not an expert on rabbit genetics yet, but I know enough to put together a color guide.
I hope to have a variety of pictures from all breeds, and a description of the color.
This is what I have so far: http://kkrabbits.yolasite.com/color-guide.php
It is not published yet, only people with the link can see it. Any corrections or suggestions are welcome. It is still a work in progress.

Anyway, I NEED PICTURES NOW!!!!! I ran out of all the pictures of my own, so it is time to start accepting pictures from other people!
I need pretty much everything. And all breeds are welcome, as long as it is a good, clear picture.
Especially need the following: Chocolates, silver martens of all kinds, otters of all kinds, pointed whites (esp. lilac/blue/choc), tort (esp. lilac/blue/choc). all varieties of chinchilla, lynx, smoke pearl martens, sable martens, smoke pearl, seal, sable point, tri-color, cream, fawn, steels.....you get the idea. Everything is welcome.
I hope to have 3-9 pictures of each variety, so even just plain blacks, rews, chestnuts...
I'll post this on a few Facebook groups eventually, but for now RT people are so much easier to deal with ;)

Please email pictures to [email protected]
Or, maybe you could post pics here?

I'm super excited about getting this project finished! It's going to be cool :D
Thanks for any help!

You are welcome to use any pictures from my gallery and I don't need credit. Most should have the colours listed.

I just checked your site. - I am pretty sure the "orange" is actually a tort. An orange (or red or fawn or cream) will have lighter points from the agouti gene rather than darker points like the rabbit in the picture.

I will try and get you an individual pics of silver tipped steel, frosty (shaded) magpie(chinchilla), blue harlequin(agouti based), tort harlequin (self based) and a baby pic of blue tort and fox (tort otter)

o_O hmm...I'll try to get a few pics of some of my rabbits...I think i have a few colors your missing...and a few you have already but different breeds. I'm bad at taking pics though so not sure if they will do any good :p

You're welcome to use any of the pics on our facebook page. We have a ton of pics that are all labeled and have a few of the colors you are missing.

Also, I noticed you have a Netherland labeled as a blue chin. In Netherlands blue chin is called squirrel. :)

Thank you all for the offers! This should be a good start.

Dood - The orange is definitely orange, she has a white belly. But she is a bit smutty. I will replace that picture with a clearer one whenever I can.
Mama Mandy - Thanks, I will definitely use some of your FB pictures:) Once I get more picture up I plan to go back through and add "other' names for each color, like blue chin/squirrel, chestnut/castor, etc.

LOL I get rainbow litters cause Mini Lops aren't supressed with color rules muahahah

Want any silver colors?

I debated whether Enki is a sable point marten in another thread. Most said no. He's only produced 2 litters so far. 1 litter the doe only raised 2 of the 4 kits and the 2nd litter she failed to care for them at all so I'm on the fence. He was a colony kit so I'm still tracking down his breeding. If he pops out a blue or a marten I will know the missing doe in his pedigree.

The orange is definitely orange, she has a white belly.
that could also be from the tan gene making the kit a tort otter AKA fox, I have attached a pic of my current fox kit.

These might help. :) Some you already have, but a color can look different on different fur types. Use what you like. :)
