So my Dad is visiting from Alaska and I made a yummy rabbit dish for dinner.

The middle section. I call it the loin, I have no idea what it is.

Anyway, my husband was talking about how I normally cook him "the paws". I look at him funny and he's like "you know, the kickers".

Ahhh rabbit anatomy at the Robertson household.

We've got the middle section, the kickers and the paws. haha!

:gnight:

Nice, I'll add the wings into his vocab next time I butcher! lol

Kickers, paws and wings! That creates quite an interesting picture in my mind.

Once my sister was helping me butcher rabbits and she called the belly flaps "wings". They've been wings here ever since.

Wings are the front leg and shoulder at my house. Then I have the tenderloin and the little tenders (from the upper back) and the back legs are just thighs.

So, um, do you cook the loin for yourself on the sly? Poor guy only gets the "kickers"? :?

Mine too! Mostly because we bag those separately and cook them in BBQ sauce making a type of "Buffalo wing" dish.

Us, too. If I quarter the rabbits and bag separately the wings get made into a BBQ wings similar to what you would do with chicken wings.
