My intact male sheltie has been driving me nuts the last couple of day. He has been whining, howling, and starting fights with my fixed male. This is behaviour he has never shown before, he has always been the perfect dog, even when my girls are in heat. So why all of a sudden has he started acting like a jerk!?! Appaerntly its because the neighbors pit bull is in heat! Of course these are the type of people that shouldnt own a flea let alon a dog  She has been running loose all day so when I try to let my dogs out to go potty, there she is running up and down the fence! Looks like i am going to be bugging the dog warden again :x good thing she is a friend

...and your neighbor's dog is driving your dog nuts!

I have an idea! :p Let's solve nobody's problems, and create a designer breed! We'll call them Shetland bulldogs! :x The very thought of that cross makes me cringe.

that would be one ugly mix  According to the dog warden he has a court order to either get $100,000 insurance on the dog or get rid of her.

The insurance thing usually means the dog has attacked someone or someone's pet and is considered dangerous.

Soo they let her run loose too attack someone else.My neighbor would take care of that situation and it wouldnt involve a phone call.

In Ohio you have to have insurance on all "pit bull" type dogs even if it is an eight week old puppy. Actually they are also suposed to leashed at all times or in a fenced area with a lock, and if they are off the property they are to be muzzled (which usually isnt enforced).

She eventually went back home, he always lets her out to go to the bathroom and she just runs around the neighborhood for awhile before he notices she didnt stay in the yard, then he stands out there yelling like an idiot for her to get back in the yard. She is not an aggressive dog yet, I say yet because she is fearful of people and fear aggression can be the worst. I have taken her back home before, and she just crouches down like you are going to beat her. She probably wont be around for long, she will either get hit by a car or be taken to the pound. And since the other neighbor has rottweilers that are not fixed, there will probably be some rotten pits born in 2 months.

Jessica, that BSL 'law' was repealed as being unconstitutional quite some time ago...Ohio is now a "bite rule" state. Now, certain localities may have BSL, such as the Cleveland area, the city I live in, and other pockets where crime stats are higher- including dog fighting, drugs and trafficking in people.

Hmm, Pit Bull X Sheltie...eww...

Don't get me wrong, I love Pit Bulls, but when they make pups with anything else the pups just look bizarre lol.

I didnt know they changed that law, but then I never owned a breed that was considered dangerous so i never really payed much attention to it.

I know the guy has had 2 dogs removed before, 1 was mean so maybe thats why they are coming down on him for this dog.
