My chinchilla colored doe has kindled

She had to wait until the hot part of the day to do it but it appears as if they are all alive and wiggling. I think I counted 8. This is her first litter and she used the nest box and best of all was not aggressive at all when I checked, concerned.

If I have the genetics figured right some of these babies could be magpie or halequinized sallander. I did see alot of "white" in the box but didn't looks close enough to see if I could tell eye color. She could be homozygous for chin but biased on the one kit I checked real quick I think she carries REW.

Anyway excited about this litter and and pleased with her so far. Hope she gets them all fed.

My Hemi doe is due today as well but it looks like she's going to wait for it to cool off. Little Blackie is due tomorrow. She had 13 last time but only 9 made it. These will be my last litters till fall. I bred these so my daughter would have a meat pen to show at the fair which is Sept 8-10.

One is harlequin maybe magpie and has stronger markings than those in my last litters. I don't take pics. Have a bad headache so just checked and made the kids finish feeding.

Here a couple of pics. I don't think she has fed them yet. Fingers cross she does so tonight. She pulled a TON of fur. I'm hoping they don't overheat. I think I have two chinchillas, one chestnut, the one harlequin/magpie, the rest are "white".

That is a lot of fur!!! Mine just have a small layer over them. Cute babies!

Just a quick update. She still hadn't fed them around 9am this morning so I held her over the nest for a few minutes. She took the whole thing very calmly and I think she figured out what she was supposed to do. When she was done they all looked like they were going to pop.

My other two does kindled as well.

All babies are fed and doing well.

The litter with the brokens is from my himi doe.

The other litter is from little blackie (Mitka's daughter is is also a Steel).
