I posted this on HT, but haven't gotten any advice.
I have a doe due in 2 weeks. She's a first timer, and I was unable to get any of my other does bred. So, I'm trying to make things easier on her when she kindles. I moved her from her outdoor hutch to a cage in the garage. It's less drafty and I will be able to access her and her kits more easily. She's been in the garage 2 days, and is VERY skittish now. Not acting her normal self at all. She normally enhales feed/hay, but now she just hides in her box and has only at 3/4 of one meal. She's afraid of the garage door, our cars, everything. I figured I'd move her while she was 2 weeks out so she'd have time to adjust before delivering. However, things are not going well. Should I let her be and let her adjust or just move her back outside where she's more comfortable??? I just don't want her to stress out. I've bred litters in the winter before, but they were always in a shed, not in an outdoor hutch. The hutch is covered on 4 sides, and she has a box stuffed with hay.
She's now went 2 days without eating and barely drinking. Here we go again!
