Momma Bunbun kindled

Momma kindled this morning. 9 in all, one was stillborn and another 4 were found dead around 1pm. One of the four remaining is really small too. Not the best litter for sure. Not sure what is going on this time around. Momma has been pretty anti-social lately and she still is after the kits were born. She was pretty mellow with the first litter, but has turned grouchy and downright hostile the last four weeks. May have to reconsider her status as one of my breeders.

I'm sorry to hear she's had such losses with this litter!

We had a doe with similar losses a couple of months ago.

Well the four survivors made it through the night and seem to be doing well.

Momma has chilled out a bit. My daughter was petting her this afternoon like nothing was wrong. Wonder if she knew something was wrong with the kits and that is why she was so upset yesterday. Time will tell if she mellows out or if she will return to her evil, finger biting ways.
