Mini lop?

I just adopted this bunny and was told its mini. I'll try weighing her today. She's 8 months old. Thanks

My first rabbit would not touch hay, his previous owner only fed pellets to him.

She was eating hay this morning. Just rehomed a bunny I rescued. Never had hay. I have a holland who was fed dog food, no hay. She loves it here. Do you think the mini will get any bigger?

Rabbits don't "need" hay.. especially if they get rabbit pellets. Pellets are already pretty much 98% hay/alfalfa.. That rabbit looks nice and healthy; dog biscuits usually contain a lot of wheat and corn etc. etc.,be hard pressed to find meat protein in a lot of them anyways. Hay just brings problems with dust, mold and mites. In the winter we give the alfalfa cubes to chew on and during the growing season we give dandelions, weeds, leaves and sticks from Mulberry or willow etc. etc. I have not fed hay in forever, and as we show we would prefer that they ate something that was a little higher in protein like the pellets. You are lucky to get 12% out of hay which is way too low for rabbits, they need about a 16% to 18% depending on breed.As this appears to be a drastic change in diet I hope you are proceeding slowly.
An 8 month out rabbit is usually fully grown unless its one of the "giant" breeds, which this lop isn't.

I agree, she looks like a minilop, and shouldn't get any bigger at this point.

It's true that rabbits on pellets don't need hay, but it can help prevent some gut problems. It also gives the rabbit something to munch on, which they like.
