So the last litter of kits I had, I posted about them being born on the 4th. The mother is a Champagne D'Argent and the dad I found out is a vienna marked harli. lol

So I'm curious what color this little nugget is? At the end of the day it doesn't matter much... but I'm still curious.

Harlequinized chestnut and given her parentage = Aa B_ C_ D_ Eej

PS I think I see some steel in there so the "blacks" could actually be harlequized steel and only look like self blacks

Well I'll get to watch how their color comes out for a couple months. :) lol

I'm thinking of keeping a replacement doe. I butchered most of my stock a while back because I was not breeding for a while and just feeding them. I kept the doe that had this litter and one other. I'm thinking of culling the other one.

As far as fun colors go, breeding a doe from this litter back to her vienna marked harli dad. Which kit (if it's large and healthy) would be a good color to hold back?

NOT a steel :)

A chestnut or a harli chestnut should give you more harli chestnuts, harlis and possibly some other colours if the sire passed on some hidden recessives - you may even get a blue eyed white  if he passed on the Vienna gene

Ohhhh thanks! Will the vienna marked kits pass down similar genes as the chestnuts? I have two that are dark but with white stripes on their heads.

I always wanted a blue eye white.
