A nz nonextension agouti should be a red not a fawn. The cream belly and markings does not make it a fawn. It makes it a red without the wideband gene.
In Flemish giants a "fawn" is normal band, non-extension agouti. It is incorrect to call such a rabbit "red" as "red" in every breed that accepts the colour must be wideband but the term "fawn" varies depending on breed. You could perhaps call it orange -like they do in Mini Lops - but not red.

It's still red in NZ and mini rex. It's just a not show quality red.

Ahhh.

Yes i want fairly early maturing and year round breeding. Red and Gts are from the same breeder, different litters but were born days apart. First bred both of them at 6mos back home before the move to a borrowed thrianta proven buck and it was still summery. Second breeding i had to wait until after the move so i wasnt moving preggo first timers a whole day. So that was here to my florida white buck. Gts had the litter of 10. I thought i felt babies in Red so i didnt breed her again.
Bred back Gts and bred Red again the same day so hopefully she took.

ok i am starting up this thread again.

Red finally took with SF buck. 7 kindled, lost the runt, currently near 6wks old and looks like two kits are black and four are gts. Red needs to get back in shape, her litter is nice and fat but took it out of her. i am considering selling her if she doesnt get back in shape good.

GTS kindled in the colony hutch but the young does were laying on the nest and i found them within half hour and thought they would be smothered for sure ): thankfully they hadnt been. but she kindled 12 and after i rearranged things she wanted nothing to do with them and wouldnt nurse. i kept the litter inside and brought her in to feed (which i have done before for super hot times) but she would be a pickle and after about 2.5wks it was a constant fight with her and by 3wks she was dry. i worked with the kits and mush from wetted feed but only ended up with 2 kits living that are quite runts and lanky. i am hoping to sell them off as pets.

GTS is bred back now after putting her weight back on. i feel some babies in her and hoping this time she just has like 9, which i know she can feed.

Blue is a doe i ended up keeping from the GTS x florida white litter. so she is 1/2 FW, 3/8 NZ, 1/8 FG. she is decent size and good shape, biggest of the litter. She is bred to my SF buck as well. i am hoping she doesnt have more than she can feed.
she is blue GTS (genetically opal affected by steel) and the buck should carry blue so i am hoping for some color in this litter.

GTS and Blue are due may 3rd. day after my birthday :) i am hoping that i wont need to foster between them but that if i do between the two of them they can feed em all.

:) so i guess this litter from Blue will help clear up more of what colors i have hiding!

__________ Wed Apr 23, 2014 11:23 pm __________

ok so anticipating these two litters i am bored and wondering what colors i will get...
GTS i am expecting black and gts. it would surprise me if she had any other color with him.

Blue i am expecting.. black.. gts.. blue.. blue gts.. opal.. maaaaaaayyybe a rew, he has one at the very end of his pedigree and GTS probably has rew background somewhere, and Blues dad was rew, so mayyyybe.

Well they are due tomorrow. GTS is round and tight like always. Hopin she has a managable litter this time. Blue definitely has some babies in there. I am excited to see what colors she has!

So far nothin with GTS other than she is packed tight. Blue has made a bit of a bowl in the hay, two days ago she had a mouthful of fur pulled in the box when i w puttin hay in, noon she had a few mouthfuls fur but not "organised" nest, and an hour ago she had about twice as much fur pulled. Both seem super chill.

__________ Wed May 07, 2014 7:40 am __________

well GTS kindled and was all done with things when i did chores at 8am on may 4. she kindled 11. three runts, half the size of the others. 1 kit had died when i checked that evening (10 total).
Blue had kindled 1 kit in the night on may 6. i only checked because it sounded like a coon or something was attacking the hutches or something, turned out it was the growouts making a ruckus with midnight bunny nascar. i palpated her the other day and she definitely has several in there so i leave her to it. i wait and wait and no more babies... getting worried... wait and wait more... i find one stretched kit not in the nest, get rid of it. i pop the runts from GTS in with Blues single, later one of the runts died (9, 1 total). wait and wait.... no more babies... wait and wait... one dead kit not in the nest with some of the head eaten, get rid of it.. one of GTS litter died (8, 1 total).

and thats where i am now. i know Blue has more in there and more than anything i am worried she wont pass them ): so she'd either die or they'd be stuck in there and she wouldn't be able to have more litters. the store doesnt have raspberry leaf tea and i cant find lavender and dont have plants. so i am at a loss of anything i can do for her ): if she doesnt pass them i may put her in with the buck and try that, which is supposed to cause contractions. that way even if she has them and ends up takin again from it i can deal alot better fattening her back up from a back to back litter or losing some kits than losing her.
