I went ahead and advertised my first two litters of Silver Fox and sold several before butchering any. I am needing the cage space so I decided to butcher the three blue bucks that were 15 1/2 weeks old. I now understand what people say about older bucks being a little more difficult  . One of them had a bit of a raspy sound to his breathing so I made sure to check his organs closely and the only thing I found was some white (I'm assuming puss?) fluid in one side of his lungs? That side of the lung was also more bumpy on the surface compared to the other. (sorry I didn't take photos :( ) The meat should be safe to eat right? I think it was Bordetella as I believe one of my does had it as a youngster when I got her but has gotten over it and is healthy now.

Since the infection was localized to the lungs, the meat itself is safe. Just make sure to cook thoroughly as usual.
