I think its the light on the Satin fur lol.

Methinks you're onto something.

This morning, I took a pic of the litter with my cell phone, and given the way the flash on the phone worked at the time, there was a very noticeable glare right in the middle of their foreheads. It was the result of the light reflecting off the sheen which they're already starting to show. If you turn my cell phone to an angle in any direction, you cannot help but notice it, as it stands out despite nearly everything else in the picture going almost completely indistinguishable.

I will guarantee you guys of this much. These rabbits may have faults like most all rabbits do, but one thing which will never happen is for one of them to be DQ'd from a show for the absence of sheen in their coats (and yes, that is a DQ in satins). I was very pleasantly surprised at how much it showed less than a week after they were born.

Wow, they're shiny! :p

Kind of reminds me of my good old doe, Patches. I always knew at a glance when she had kindled. She'd be right at the door of the cage to greet me, quivering with excitement. "Come and see what I've got, Maggie! I did it again!"
That's adorable!

3 of the babies have begun opening their eyes now. They were looking at me just a bit ago like, "Whoa Daddy, you one ugly dude!"

I had to put them on the table, and you should be able to see why in the pictures:

Poor Maryse!!! Even on a grooming table, the nestbox clown ensures that she cannot get a moment's peace!!!!

They grow so fast!!!!

And then along comes week #5. This first pic shows the typical situation in the mornings when the Calf Manna gets dumped into the feeder. Greedy little hellions they are, and they make no exception even on Mother's day:First Five, Week Five at Calf Manna time.JPG

But then again, it sure didn't take them long to grow!
Right now, the entire litter + Mama Maryse are consuming 4-5 cups per day of Professional Blend Rabbit Chow.First Five, Week Five, My haven't we grown.JPG
