She delivered 4 fat white satin bunnies this morning. Never pulled the first shred of hair until after the first one dropped.

Thanks Maggie, it was the funniest thing. I woke up EARRRRRLY this morning and was unable to get back to sleep, so I went out to clean out the stackable unit drip pans. I hear this squeaking noise, and Maryse had her first kit/bunnicle right there on the cage wire and there wasn't a hair in her box. I reached inside and put the kit into the nest box, then Maryse got busy. I came back in when I finished up and napped a bit, then went back out.

I know 4 is a relatively small litter, but I have limited cage space and didn't mind the small box number a bit. My experience with smaller litters in the past is that the bunnies tend to be a little better overall in terms of size and condition, but we'll see if this one plays out that way.

Congratulations! She did a nice job pulling fur. That's my kind'a girl, flies by the seat of her pants.

That pretty much sums her up. I was kinda unsure what to expect out of her as a brood doe, and she went out of her way to keep me guessing right up to the point that the first one dropped onto the cage wire. :? I could not get her to leave any hay in the box for the entire time it's been in her cage, but she was alright with the wood shavings, and she seems to be turning into a terrific mom. She acts totally different, and acts like she's proud of this litter.

If even one of those bunnies turns up with their dad's depth and body type, and has their mom's coat, watch out!!!

This one's for you, Miss M!
 You know, that's the first time I've actually heard that song in many years!

Maryse looks very proud of her little popples, and she has a nice, warm nest for them! :)

Kind of reminds me of my good old doe, Patches. I always knew at a glance when she had kindled. She'd be right at the door of the cage to greet me, quivering with excitement. "Come and see what I've got, Maggie! I did it again!"

There had better not be any brokens in the litter. They come from a solid white background. LOL!!!!
