Well Lindsey's Woolies, my boyfriend, and I went to go visit with another breeder to hang out for a few hours,go over juniors, and just have a good time....It was a fantastic BUT....

My boyfriend happened to be looking into Tornado's mouth (not sure what possessed him to) but he noticed that another set of teeth in growing behind the top front teeth!

Why could this be happening?!

Is it genetic or a fluke? He's had perfect teeth his whole life. He's just becoming a senior and I was planning to breed him soon for brokens since he's the only one I own

I need to take pictures later this evening ( reason I haven't been actively been on. School and work )

I checked him this morning and they have grown some. Will they push out the old teeth? Correct themselves? Get worst?

He's one of my sweetest bucks and a favorite. I'm scared for him because at the end of the day I have to do the best for him and determine what I'm going to do based on his future quality of life.

:(

I don't know anything about it but I'm trying really sorry it's happening. I hope its not to serious a thing for him.

Honestly I think his teeth are normal. Look at this normal rabbit skull, I just don't think everyone looks behind the incisors on their rabbits and notices. :)

I didn't know they had those little teeth back there. :?

What a nice skull! Did you clean it yourself, and if so, how did you do it?

Peach, went through the same panic. After the experience with Rubeus, I was really nervous with Fawkes, but my husband found the information that Lindsey did and it's all normal. The issue with Rubeus was the bottom teeth overlapped the upper teeth so it was a jaw issue.

Glad Lindsey was able to post this info to help ease your mind.

MSD, a red ant den would only take a couple of weeks ... just saying

A reptile breeder friend had some sort of beetles he used to clean deer skulls. Not sure how my taxidermy friend did it.

I left the head of one of my rabbits outside for the ants to clean & then scrubbed it with a toothbrush & bleach water. Dunno if that was good or bad but I am sure every microscopic critter is dead!
