Quite happy that my black otter doe, Waffles, gave birth to 4 healthy kits on the 22nd after giving me a scare. The father is a lynx named Maki and he is a silky soft sweetheart. Although Im think its a black otter, lynx, and 2 chocolate otters, maybe second opinions? Im more or less certain the 3rd is a black otter since the little fur strands aren't like rusty if it was a castor, theyre black. But it looks like chocolate otters and a lynx? I might be doubting myself for no reason or I might just be dumb haha 😂

The first two are definitely chocolate otters, and the second is a black otter. I’m really not sure about the third though, maybe posting another pick in a week or so would be good. It looks to dark/red to be a lynx, then again I haven’t had much experience with that color.

Choc otter, Choc otter, black otter. And the last one looks like maybe a castor. Time will tell! Post pics when it’s older. But it’s too dark to be Lynx.
its not a castor, Ive had castor kits before, they have black skin and pink bellies when theyre born. I thought it was going to be a lynx but if its not Im unsure what else it would be, theres no red or anything in either of their ancestry so idk lol. The camera quality is a bit dark too, but Ill definitely post more pictures in a week or so!

I'm guessing the fourth is an amber, aka chocolate agouti. You know both parents carry chocolate, and the sire is an agouti, so it would make sense.
That would be interesting! Definitely not a color I considered at all, mysterious kit number 4, what will you be? 🤣
