Looking for rabbit breeders in Durham Region (Ontario)

Is there a list of breeders that are in Ontario here somewhere ?
I'm hoping to find those who are closest to me - in the Durham Region / eastern GTA.

I know BadHabit is close by - but Lionheads are not on our radar, as gorgeous as they are

Specifically looking for those who breed Dutch or Rex / Mini Rex breeds.

Where do I even start looking ?

There were lots of mini rex at the DCRBA show in Powassan, so maybe try the Dominion club webpage~ there is a breeder directory.

I'm near Owen Sound, but I just have Holland Lops

This breeder might have some Dutch for sale: http://cherryhollandsrabbitry.weebly.com/our-dutch.html. She as a couple Dutch, might have litters in the future. Breeds mostly Hollands as well. And Mini Lops. She's kind of between Meaford and Owen Sound.

If you can't find a close enough breeder of the breed you want, you may be able to find someone to transport.

I joined the facebook groups, and checked out a the breeder listed - but Chatsworth is still 2 1/2 hours away.

It's really looking like there are few breeders in eastern GTA / Durham Region.

there aren't. I get a fair number of sales from the GTA area and regularly drive up for field trips...almost always bringing a rabbit or two with me. Despite it being a solid 2-3 hour drive for most people. Go figure.

If you can find someone who's within 2-3 hrs, it would be worth the drive to see the rabbits in person, if they will let you. Otherwise, you can always find transport to bring the rabbit to you (or at least closer), but always better to see them in person.

Have you contacted your local 4H ? They might have a rabbit club or you can ask where their members got their rex or Dutch bunnies from?

if just looking for a pet, check out the pet stores, they often have mini rex.

She has a desire to show her bunny, even though it will be a pet, not used for breeding.

I'm not sure she will be able to do that with a pet-store or rescue / humane society adoption.
