Hi.. My daughters (11-9 yrs) and I have decided to start a 4-H/prepping project.. I want a friendly mid weight multi animal. Show, meat and pet.. Been told that rex and satin might be the way to go?.. I have had Rexs as a teenager and am looking forward to sharing this with my kids.. Hoping to learn the art of tanning furs also.. So soft are bunnys.. Will be using a large chicken coop plan for the does and a smaller coop for the male (Husbands working on those).. Thanks..

Am having a hard time finding a good breeder in my area for this.
I will be needing a buck and two doe from diff bloodlines..

Am located in Kern county Cali
Also new here so if am doing any thing wrong please point it out so i may fix.. thanks!

Hi skymya! Welcome to RT! :D You are in luck- I have several adult bucks available, two proven does that will be available in a couple of weeks, and I also have several litters to choose from. I am located in the mountains between Bakersfield and Tehachapi.

When breeding rabbits, forget all the rules against linebreeding and inbreeding- most rabbits are bred that way.

That would be great.. My girls would like pick theirs of course.. lol.. What breeds do you have?

Of course they would! I have Rex- I guess I forgot to mention that. Poppy is the mother bunny in my avatar, with her son Greystone, my DD's latest pick.

I sent you a pm (private message) this afternoon- look at the top of the board and you will see a button that says New Message. Just click on that to view it. :)

Welcome to RabbitTalk, Skymya!

Looks like you've already made two friends -- MamaSheepdog, and OneAcreFarm, who just hasn't introduced herself yet. Those two are always cutting up and having fun on here. :)

On that note... Welcome to RT! I raise Rex as well, but I am all the way in Texas, so MSD is your best bet! Glad to have you here and let me know if I can help you out in any way. Miss M and I are two of the moderators, so you can always PM one of us, or MaggieJ(Admin) if you have questions.

Thank for the warm welcomes.it will be fun showing my girls and the disbelieving hubby that rabbits can be a warm and friendly pet if treated right.

We cant wait for rabbits.. Even got a friend all lined up for any meat rabbits we might end up with. Husband says if he has to get up and come look at another rabbit picture online hes not building my hutches.. LOL.. As hes disabled he gets the right to moan I guess.. :)
