Lionheads

I have 2 male lionheads, one is pretty nippy and the other isn't the most cuddly bunny ever. I was wondering if anyone had experience with female lionheads? I have been thinking about possibly getting a female but wasn't sure if they are normally more friendly then the males or what. I also have a female english angora and she is the sweetest bunny ever and will even give me kisses (not sure if that is just the angora breed or not since this is the first angora I have had). Would love to hear from someone who has had experience with both male and female lionheads.

My 1yr old lionhead doe is Evil... Very hormonal, territorial, quick with teeth and nails. She chills out when she's pregnant/nursing though.

My 4mth old lionhead doe is fairly sweet, but her attitude is starting to show. She's becoming territorial as well, but I think that's more because she's a bit bored(used to having 4-5hrs out before she came here, now getting about an hour a day because she's in quarantine).

My lionhead buck is very sweet. Never nipped or struck out. He'll sit with me to watch tv, and is very easily handled. As a 3mth old, I let a photographer use him for Easter photos.

Does of any breed tend to be a bit harder to handle because they get hormonal. Were you hoping to breed the LionHeads, or just trying for a sweet lap bunny?

Jersey Woolys are tiny (3lbs), fuzzy, and very sweet if you are looking for a snuggle bunny.

Sorry forgot to mention I am not looking to breed, just want a sweet pet bunny. I was just curious if female's were normally sweeter then the males in lionheads or not. Like I said before I have a female english angora and she is the sweetest ever but wasn't sure if it was just the angora breed or if females in general were normally sweeter since she is my first female ever. Maybe I should look into another angora if I want another sweet bunny then.

Hi have both male and female lion heads and both of them are sweet pets that love to snuggle. Right now my doe has babies, but she still, though territorial and protective, is sweet. I think it all has to do in how they are raised. I had both mine at 6 weeks old, and the breeder handled her kits every day. Smaller bunnies are excitable, but they can be very snuggly. Lion heads are just as sweet a bunny as JW's, Netherlands, Polish, etc.

Mine enjoy there time with grooming. That's our snuggle time. But I worked with them every day from the time they were 6 weeks old. I think any rabbit breed, big or small, can be nippy or anti-social. It's the way they are raised.

Sounds like you like a bigger bunny. I have a Flemish who I enjoy as well. He's just as sweet as my Lion heads. Big goofy baby who loves to snuggle.
