Not much room in the hutch if sharing with 6 kits. I let the mother out during the day and let her back in at night. Problem was to have her come when I open the cage door. Solved it by leaving the top open. The kits can't get out but she can jump in when she's ready to nurse. . Of course in a couple weeks the kits will be able to jump out too. This will work as long as there are no predators.

That's a great idea. I imagine there are no resident cats.

I just made duplexes for my does. The divider door can be opened and it's set really high so mama can jump over, but kits can't. They love it. But, I'm not going to tell them about your idea or they'll demand more and right now they think I'm awesome. :D
