So, my doe just had a litter last night or this morning, and one of the kits seems to have a poo stuck to it's belly button. Like, attached, not just stuck there. Has anyone else seen this happen in kits? Did the kit survive? Is this something that just happens sometimes?

Poo, as in, one of the doe's droppings?

I know they can have the remainders of umbilical cords attached to their belly buttons for a little while. Newborns don't make much poo themselves.

Can you post a picture? It might not be poo.

So I dug through the nest box, looking for the one with the poo stuck to it (and yes, it was one of momma's poos, it was nearly as big as the kit's head  ) and apparently it wasn't as stuck as I thought, because I couldn't find it. So, false alarm, I guess?

That's funny... ;) Glad it turned out to be nothing.
