I've done it before with bucks that didn't reek, but ones that did have a bucky smell, I tossed.
I have way too much already saved, tossed all my dryer lint because I have too much rabbit hair, so didn't keep any from my Cali buck or other rabbits that went nuts with molting recently.

I switch the angora wool around in all of my nests and haven't had a problem to date. I just grab a handful from my spinning box and toss it in the nests. I usually take from the box with the most, and since ts only the first time moms that never pull enough the first go, they seem to happily accept the wool to keep their babies warm.

I save nearly all of my fur... from bucks and does. I have baggies full of multicolored hair, none of my does have shown any concern for the mix of hair I toss into the nest box.

I've heard that doe will pull fur from their neighbors if they can reach anyone.

I have always saved any non stinky fur from molting, my californians always seem to be the ones molting...a lot. I have never had a doe be bothered by another rabbits fur in her nest box so I would save any you can just in case.

If you aren't certain if the bunnies will like the fiber, just put it in their cage and let them decide if they want to put it in their nest box. Does seem to like putting stuff into their box, it keeps them busy and gives them something to do so they won't have time to get fussilated about the upcoming litter. Also, if it is a fiber or material I'm not sure about, I just put it where the dog can reach it if she wants it. The seem to like all sorts of fresh grasses, dried grasses, leaves, bunny hair and sometimes sheep's wool, but the dried grasses and bunny fiber seem the preferred options.

You know, I've just never had a doe not pull enough fur, and none of the breeds I have (Rex, JW or SF) shed enough fur at any one time that I'd be able to collect it and make it useful.
