it had escaped and was running around the barn. I caught it and it started shrieking. Poor little bug!

"Eeeee-eee-eee! Lemme go! I'm not done playing!" Poor little guy- probably thought he was done for!
I had 5 escapees from a growout pen that I had to round up this morning- 3 were in with the hay, one was by the firepit, and the last one was way over by the goats! No screamers, thankfully.
It is strange that our barn cats will catch wild squirrels and even rabbits (though it has been a good while), but they don't go after our rabbits. Even the dogs just looked at them.

my barn cat never bothers them, either. he sleeps in the barn at night, and if a baby gets loose, he never bothers it.
