So today my two does gave birth... the first one who was nesting 2 weeks early has an explosion of fur in her nest box. She gave first to 5 kits, no still birth. I was patting her a lot and telling her what a good girl she is especially since she give birth on her nest box.
The second one, no nesting behavior, no fur pulling, but i can definitely feel babies in her tummy when I palpate her. I put in her nest box too and hay in the box (to encourage her to give birth there). Plan didn't work though, in fact, she used it as a litter box. As I was about to change it and give her a new box, I notice her licking her vulva, then all of a sudden I see baby feet wriggling. I was shocked not that I wasn't expecting her to give birth anytime, its just my first time, seeing a rabbit gave birth. They're so quiet... and dignified while they're giving birth (I assist giving birth to several dogs and they can be so messy) She cleaned them up, let them suckled and since she gave birth on the floor, I picked them up one by one and put them in the clean nest box, all the while I'm patting the doe's head and telling her what a good girl she is. 6 babies, no still birth.
Wow, I have a total of 11 kits today... what a nice feeling. :mbounce:
