I have discovered a bad infestation of mites in the ear of a nursing doe. I would like to give her a shot of ivomec. I have never had ear mites before, and thus, a few questions...

Is it safe to give ivomec to a nursing doe?

What is the dosage?

Yes, it is safe, except for those with the Vienna gene.

I know you can give it in a shot, but I don't know anything about it. You can give injectable ivermectin orally, like the paste. The paste is 1.87%, and you give about a pea-sized amount. I think injectable is 1%, but you'll have to look at your bottle. Medirabbit probably has the dosage.

I gave ivermectin to a pregnant doe once, after doing some research. She had fur mites, and I would have been treating with DE with newborn kits shortly. I didn't want to risk them inhaling the stuff. I treated her while pregnant and nursing, and everything went just fine.
