Congrats on the new youngsters.

Keep a close eye on them. In this hot weather
losing a youngster isn't uncommon. And, you've
gotta make sure to remove them quickly.

An easy way, other than smell, is the live youngsters
in the nest. They'll begin to have small, darkish spots
on them, where they've rubbed up against the corpse.

grumpy.

Thanks all!

Question ... when should I check and/or be concerned about the large litter being fed? I want to try and make sure I don't loose any. I checked them this morning and about 1/2 looked like they'd been fed but the other half were pretty skinny looking.

You can split the litter and switch them twice a day. I did that for a larger litter until they wereall a bit bigger and could fight for a spot.
