I had some growouts that were right at 12 weeks old. I had wanted to do them last weekend but ended up planting a bunch of stuff and between this and that didn't get them done. It's supposed to rain almost all this week starting tonight. They are calling for us to get something like 7" :x So today was the day....

I butchered 14 rabbits. One was much smaller than the others and I didn't even bother cleaning it just gave it to the dogs. 2 where adult rabbits one was a doe who's kits size wasn't as good as some of my others and one was a cute chinchilla 1/2 rex buck that I had kept back as a spare but now I officially have 2 rex bucks so he had to go. I thought about trying to sell him as he was a fairly nice buck and had nice color and personality but in the end I decided I didn't want 1/2 rex genetics getting out there so he went as well. He was 7 months old and hard to skin.

I also weighted all of them and then weighed another litter that is 10 weeks. They were actually big enough I could have butchered them as well. I guess I'll get to them after it stops raining.

Then I went to town and bought feed and groceries.

I'm tired.....

__________ Mon Mar 07, 2016 6:57 pm __________

Oh I also kept back a few. I kept back a harlequinized tort that is 1/2 rex to breed to my new tri buck and I kept back a black rex coated doe that weights almost 6lbs at 12 weeks. I almost decided to go ahead and cull her but that is pretty good growth so she stays for a while.
