More commonly known as chicory. All parts are edible. Can be mildly sedating producing a slower pulse and act as a laxative but only causes health concerns in overly sensitive or allergic individuals.

Yes, it is safe for rabbits and is a wonderful food plant. Mine love it and I feed it regularly since it is a rampant weed here. It's on the safe plants list.
