Hello. I'm new here and would like to introduce myself and my two bunnies Dexter and Delilah. Dexter is a one year old Dutch buck and Delilah is a 14 week old Holland Lop. Dexter is neutered but I can't get Delilah spayed for awhile yet so I have her in a separate area. After she's spayed I'd like to bond them and they would both be free roam 🐰😊

Welcome, Penny Lane. Thanks for posting pics of your adorable bunnies.:) Have you tried or thought about breeding?

No I haven't. My buck is neutered and my doe will be spayed as soon as she's old enough. I would love to have baby bunnies but just don't have time for it.
I work from home and they are free roam, although they are in separate areas until she is spayed and healed, then I will resume the bonding process.

I don't know anything about bonding but wouldn't it be ok to continue now as he's been snipped?

That's what I thought. It's been 5 weeks Monday but he still tries to mount her and she gets irritated with it and gets snippy with him. They do have daily supervised play time but I'm scarred to leave them together unattended for fear they've I'll fight. I've heard from others that if they have a bad fight I may never be able to bond them, so for now Dexter has free roam of most of the basement and Delilah has a good sized dog pen 24 x 30 with an area enclosed around my office area so she has room to run.
Playdates will continue as long as I don't see any aggressive behavior.

Ah I have the opposite problem. I want it to happen but my buck Cheddar is as absolute gentleman and just lays down with her if she's not in the mood 😊

Sometimes he'll give her a bit of a wash/groom on her head to say sorry!
