Adorable! There were a few Dobes on the K-9 SAR group that I participated in for awhile - absolutely gorgeous dogs, and super smart too! Congratulations!

Thanks.
Kitty was defending her box, because all cats play "the floor is lava" game their whole lives. :/
Chillie is attempting to play with him, but she doesn't know how to play and she's overly dominant about it. With Kohaku, he would just flip and shove her with his mouth and she'd jump at him. But eventually she'd get annoyed and glare at him, then he'd have to find someone else to play with.
He's sort of met the bulldog, but I don't like the idea of them being near each other, he's still way too tiny, Bella is 43# and way too dangerous if she thinks the pup is trying to dominate her. >.<
He'll meet the LGD pup, goats, chickens, some rabbits and maybe the horses and sheep later on today.

May I ask why you picked it up at 7 weeks? Better for them to stay with the litter until 12 weeks whenever possible...though I know not all breeders want to keep them that long...

Last dober was picked up 2wks late, this one the lady was starting to offer them at 7wks after their first shot. They were weaned at 4wks because mom started stressing and loosing hair, vet told her to wean them early.

He met Bella, she wants to play with him, but she's way too big. LGD isn't happy about him. Chillie is still weirded out about playing. He wants to sniff the cat better, but kitty says nope. He's being good about not chasing the cat and such, hopefully he'll keep being a lazy calm dog.

Since he will not be learning some of his doggie behaviors and manners from mom and siblings, he'll need to learn them from you. And, be careful during the fear stages (8-11weeks and 5 months) to provide plenty of positive experiences. :)

Enjoy your puppy!!

He'll be fine. Last dog came shy and aggressive. Our other dogs weren't shy and aggressive to people/some critters puppies.
I plan on taking him to stores when he's bigger and stronger, he's too floppy and little right now.

Chillie, Bella and the LGD pup all have this same picture, so does this little guy. Didn't have a camera with a long strap, so none for dober-dog.

Pup in the second-last picture seems to be chewing on a foxtail. My sister's dog ingested some of those a few years ago and it ended up costing her a small fortune in vet bills to save it. I don't know any more details than that but thought I should just throw out a caution about it.

Are there other grasses with similar seed heads? I play with these all the time, they never stick or poke me and the seeds crumble easily. :/

Mine looks like this, yellow foxtail. It crumbles apart. I walk barefoot and never had any of it stick to me. I've had hair, spiny pigweed and other things stab me though.

Never seen any looking like this, foxtail.

Just passing on what my sister told me. I don't have any details but as I understand it is was the awns around the seeds that caused the problem. Might have just been a freak accident or perhaps her dog ate a huge amount.

Is that a corgy in the background? Its cute! :)

Sorry, both are internet pictures. Though, a corgi is on our list of most wanted pups for the future. His/her name will be Ein. Brownie points if you know where that name is from.

Awww drat! no brownie points for me......I haven't got a clue! LOL
I used to know a corgy just like that one, her name was Noel and used to dog sit for another one and her name was Angel. Both were very cool dogs!

Ein, the Corgi, from Cowboy Bebop.

I like the picture of your puppy biting the weed. And I most CERTAINLY know what Cowboy BeeBop is. Awesome is what.

Question. You said you didnt want another giant. How much does your grown one weigh? I weighed my dober today. He is 91 pounds at 2 1/2 years old. Is that giant?
