MaggieJ has it right. I've really enjoyed my time. But have seen too many freshmen come in thinking college is just like high school and then hate the experience. I had an english class, gen ed course, that had 2-3 hours of homework per day. It was a MWF class. And others that had none. Some that had a ton of homework that was pointless and still others that doing homework would have helped. The best advice is take it slow to start. Kind of like rabbits. I don't know anyone that thought "Rabbits :? Let's get 50 to start with." :p   Well I guess there could be one out there. :x

Best of luck.

Just thinking class time + commute, + homework, + rabbits... I will be - a social life, LOL. Esp if I manage to find a part time job. + part time job will mean - rabbit shows, I think, since I will only be able to work tues wed fri afternoon, and weekends.

Been up since 3am. Woke up to pee, couldn't get back to sleep. Have drank about half a pot of coffee since 6.30.

Dog knows something is up, he hasn't left my side since I got out of bed at 6am. Sat whining outside the bathroom door while I was showering, even. I feel awful leaving him here, as my brother is currently living with us, and dog is terrified of him.

Today is just orientation, which isn't too bad. Just have to be there for a couple hours, get a tour of the place, find out about the program itself, figure out where my classes are. Tomorrow will suck - first class at 8am, which means leaving home no later than 7am, which means getting up no later than 6am... But at least, having been up since 3am, I shouldn't have an issue going to bed early tonight, lol.

__________ Mon Jan 11, 2016 9:01 am __________

AAANNNDDD of course, everywhere I look online is saying how awful the roads are... because that's exactly what's going to help settle my nerves!!

Hope everything is going well. Deep breaths will help. I'm going with a friend tomorrow to get him register and get my books. Can't wait. :p

Made it there and back, no incident. Had someone tailgating me all the way across one highway on the way home, which inspired a bout of anxiety-tears, but other than that, went far smoother than I would have thought.

The orientation itself? Super lame. It really was like high school again. Team building games. Forced socialization. Generally not a fan of that sort of thing.

First class at 8am tomorrow. Probably going to have to leave at 6.30am to ensure I get there on time. Apparently we're supposed to be hit by a snow storm tomorrow morning, so I don't even know if I will be able to make it to my first class(which is a 3hr class/lecture). I'm going to see about switching that class, just because of the commute. If it were any other season, I wouldn't care, but I am just not a confident winter driver yet, and I feel it is just going to stress me too much.

Now, I just have to manage to stay up til, like, 9pm so I don't wake up at 3am again, lol
