This is a first for Pretty Girl! I bred her back to my NZB buck for a repeat litter since the last ones were so nice. Those were born smallish, and have grown beautifully. She just kindled about an hour ago, and check out this kit! It's HUGE! I have no idea how she got this out. There's a couple other hippos too, but this is the biggest. She had 7 total. I have smallish hands, but even still, I've not seen a newborn kit this big out of all the ones I've had so far.

She seems normal, and I've seen her eating, but how would I know if a kit was stuck, just in case she wasn't done. There also seemed to be quite a bit more blood this time around too.

Whoa!!!

Do you have a kitchen scale, or at least a tape measure? That kit looks enormous.

I know, I wanted to weigh it, but my scale was in the house, and I was way to lazy to go get it! Just coming off a whole week of in-laws staying with us  , and I am wiped out!!! I am weighing it tomorrow for sure!

Poor Pretty Girl. How's she doing? That's one big kit. And you said there are more hippos in the litter?

Hope all doing well, especially Pretty Girl. Wow, talking about pushing a bowling ball. Hope Pretty Girl is ok.

Pretty Girl seemed to be doing ok, she was nibbling hay, and coming to me for lovin' when I opened the cage door. She was scratching in her potty corner, and tossing her wood block too. Curious what to watch for, just in case something may still be stuck if she wasn't finished. Would the kits all be fed if she wasn't done, because these are all well fed already. She really is a very good mom!

Pretty Girl is a NZ doe. She usually has litters where half of the kits are larger than the others, but this particular kit is ginormous! Definitely the biggest kit ever born in my rabbitry! Hubby did chores this morning so I could sleep in, so I haven't weighed it yet, but I plan on it this aft. Will weigh all the kits in the litter to compare the difference of each.
