Well, not sure about anything else but I successfully force mated my experienced doe with an inexperienced buck. I tried the same thing with the experienced buck but he didn't care to do anything. The younger buck though, 5months, didn't care that I was there and did his thing twice. I'll still try with the Apple Cider when I get some though and I am going to keep an eye on the experienced doe's vulva to see if its starts to ripen.

Off topic real quick. Why do people say younger bucks aren't able to mate and that they have to wait till they are older? He seemed like he was very happy and willing to mate.

Some younger bucks get intimidated by the does and it can put them off mating until they are much older. You have to be careful not to put too aggressive of doe with a young buck unless he's shown to also be an aggressive breeder or he may refuse to try for months.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to remember that for future bucks. He seemed to be pretty aggressive with her, not really caring if she didn't want to, or caring which end he ended up doing his thing at.

i just started using a smaller (neutral) cage for breeding and pokin the doe to make her run about some more (bucks like the chase i guess) and if he doesnt cover her and she isnt lettin him mount her or anything then i reach in and rough her up a bit and lay her out, lift up her butt for him. the one doe i had to hold her head down the first time cause she wouldnt be still at all. did the trick though cause when i did that she lifted way up and he got her.

also just the last breedings i've done, i took the doe out after each time he covered her and held her in my arm on her back with her butt pushed up some. like turtle on its back kinda. and held her like that a few minutes.

i noticed that the first time covering the doe "refused" it... like she looked like she peed but she pushed out the semen!! it was like a clear gel glob   so after that i did the holding thing and never saw any do that after.
i think the does can sorta push it out if the buck doesnt "implant" it deep enough. so holding her on her back lets it settle into the right area and she cant push it out.

While there are good suggestions on this thread for getting a ready doe to breed if your does are pale pink none of it is going to work. The buck will not cover them and the does will not let him. You need to concentrate on finding why your does are not ready first and then move on to techniques of getting bucks and does in the mood at the right moment. At 5 months they may just be too young or they might need some trace minerals which they get some from the acv and you can buy loose minerals or break off from larger livestock blocks.

ditto. pale and it aint gonna happen.

i only tried what i did because i've been breedin red/purple does and nothin for months.

OGG, instead of a smaller cage, I started using the buck's runout cage ... and some of my hussys will definitely chase the buck until he chases her back LOL It also doesn't take long to see that the doe isn't ready on one day, but put her back 3-4 days later and she is all over him like a tiger :p

wouldnt work for me cause my problem was the buck couldnt even touch the doe most of the time she would run like mad. no matter the color of her vent, light or dark as i've ever seen.

mine just like to get pushed around i suppose

Or, your does don't "like" your buck ... I have a couple of does that will only breed with one particular buck and not the other

I also have one buck that will breed anything he can get in his cage, but he has a girlfriend that he is especially attached to ... will lay next to her when they are in the side-by-side runout pens. And she will get really annoyed when another doe makes up to the buck wanting bred LOL Its really cute to watch all the little dramas

Ok, well I finally got some ACV and I will be putting it in the does water to see if it makes them feel more receptive. I know it does NOT work if you put it in your wifes lemon water.... :chair:
