One of our does gave birth to two (the summer heat?) kits who are growing like mad with all the attention and milk she is giving them. We have two does and would like to breed them both at the same time, and fairly soon. When is the optimum time to rebreed a doe who has recently kindled? She is a New Zealand/mutt meat rabbit a little over a year old.

I'd breed her back as soon as you want. Two kits isn't going to tax her at all. It should also help her to have a larger litter this next time round.

I bred Hon Rosie When her litter of four were 2 weeks old. She set up nice for the buck and now has a litter of 9.

So two or three weeks is fine? I just pull out her two "babies" and put them in another cage when I put her nestbox in? She has always started building a nest early, it will be interesting to see what happens this time.

Hon Rosie had about a week off before she kindled again. She is doing real good. This next litter I won't rebred her so fast and give her time off.
