Okay so I'm new to the bunny club, I've had two rabbits for two months or so now which were both supposed to be female - clearly not when I had an unexpected litter of two. So basically I know nothing about colouring whatsoever, so can anyone help me out? I don't know when is too early to tell what colour the kits will be, but they're only 10 days old.

Sorry, but the pictures aren't showing up for me.
What kind of rabbits?

Have tried again, can you see them now?
Doe is a black netherland dwarf, and buck is a grey mini lop

Some colours are easier to identify than others, your doe is black but the buck is not your typical blue chinchilla or is possibly a blue shaded agouti

I am fairly certain the top kit is a black shaded agouti (or a blue shaded agouti) and the bottom kit is a blue (but blue seal or smoke Pearl are also possibilities)

I highly suspect your rabbits are siblings as the chance of getting these colours from unrelated rabbits is remote, but not impossible

Thanks for your opinion :) but I don't think my rabbits are related due to one being a nethie and the other a lop, and also due to the fact that I bought the two from different cities

We're they both purchased from pet stores or private sale?

Both from two different private families, where we got to see the parents of each of them too

She is definitely a lot smaller than him. Here's more photos of her anyway

looks like a chinchilla.. either a black or a blue. And the solid looks to be blue (though I've had some look blue end up being chocolate and some chocolates end up being blue).

The parents look to be lop or lop cross on dad's part. One mom's part she looks to be a nethie cross with lop. those ears are simply too big to be pure nethie. She's a mix of some sort of other. Cute face though.

Yeah she definitely isn't purebred, they were just bought as pets  but thanks for everyone's opinions, it's appreciated and been very helpful! Will keep this updated for when they grow and see how their coats progress :) I'm super excited to be able to monitor these cuties as they grow, accident or not :3

I probably wouldn't even have thought that doe a ND cross. There are no ND characteristics. Which isn't really bad, purebred ND have their problems, but people shouldn't be marketing ND that do not look anything like the breed.

The 2nd kit I would say blue or blue seal. Watch for the nose and ears to get obviously darker than the body and you'll know it is a shaded instead of plain blue.

Thanks!

If it makes much difference, I know the parents of the doe were apricot/ginger (mind my lack of not knowing the rabbit colours) and chocolate, and my bucks parents were white/pale grey and grey mother

What do you think she looks like? I'm curious to know now that people are saying she doesn't look like a netherland. And obviously me being a total bunny dummy doesn't know any different

I'll keep an eye out, thanks for the tip! :) I love the colouring of that one

__________ Fri Mar 27, 2015 4:27 pm __________

Okay so I've just googled netherland dwarves and now I see that it's ludicrous that I was led to believe that she was a nethie, they look nothing alike. Wow. I'm clearly a dummy

They could have told you she is a Flemish giant and you wouldn't have known. ;) There is no shame in having a lack of knowledge. Unfortunately, as with anything else (and particularly animal breeders out to make a quick buck, no pun intended) there are lots of unscrupulous people in the world.
