So I know with fodder you feed the rabbits about 4-6% of their body weight in fodder or something like that but with nursing does and weaned kits they are supposed to always have food. Whats the rule on feeding the nursing does and the weaned kits without leaving the entire tray of fodder in there for them?

hm... fodder like trays of sprouts? perhaps a hayfeeder would work if it was grown alot before feeding out. like wheatgrass.

i think we need more on what exactly you mean by fodder.

Hey! That is really neat. I had thrown a flat full of fodder in for the chickens a while ago and they scratched it into the ground. Knew they would but still. I also like their flat they have the fodder growing in better than mine. Looks like it has much better drainage.

It is actually 1-3%...for nursing does, I would free feed them, just like with pellets.

I've been using info from the post here

You feed 3-5% of the animal's body weight of fodder each day, so a 10lb rabbit would be fed 5-8oz of fodder a day. The 6 tray system makes 15lbs of fodder each day, or 240oz.

I've been feeding my non-nursing does and my bucks (9.5lbs each), around 6 - 7oz of fodder every night. Is that too much or should I be using the 1 - 3% instead? I know that each rabbit has its own needs and should be monitored regularly but where's the average?

Also, should I feed them the same in the morning?
