I live in Idaho and have not seen many shows at all, and a lot of the time when I do discover them it has already passed. I have also noticed that they don't seem to give you much time to find the show and plan for it (like 5 days notice). A lot of the things I find are old from 2011 or 2010 and two rabbit clubs that we have here are also outdated like this, they still have 2011 show info up. I'm also looking to show Silver Foxes which makes things more difficult. I'm guessing I'm going to have to go out of state? Or maybe just attend a show with no rabbits on hand to see if they judge Silver Foxes and wait for another one of their shows?

Larger shows are on the ARBA site usually, have you emailed the club? The next show you find talk to the show secretary and find out about getting show brochures sent to you

Find out what ARBA district you are in, your district should have a website and list all the good local shows. :) For example, I'm in District 8, so I go to their website and click on "michigan" and pull up all the shows that are in my state. :)

If you go to the ARBA website, click on the "members resources", shows, then show search. You can search for shows by state. These are updated almost daily and as soon as a sanction has been issued for a show it will show up there.

I am in District 1 and so far there is only a show for cavies, the ARBA search for Idaho, we have 4 rabbit clubs and judging by the show done in 2012 by one of them, Silver Fox is not a sanctioned breed, nor is it for this one (oudated), and this one (which is basically the same show catalog, but the two clubs came together). :weep: I will try emailing!

Sorry, I'm new to the show world and thought not being a sanctioned breed meant I could not show my breed, found some info on that when trying to figure out what "sanction numbers" were... This makes things much easier. Also just realized this is mentioned in the ARBA official guide book, I need to read more! Thanks for the help too guys. :)

I just went to the ARBA website shows link, selected ID under state, and it gave me the listings for not less than 4 shows between now and July.

Something I have noticed, and I do not like-- when looking at show listings-- is the fact that the actual show location is not listed. Does ME no good, to know such and such club-- and have the secretaries information, and NOT KNOW where the actual showgrounds will be-- In my area-- they can be in two different states, quite easily!
I have YET had a secretary return a message- either by phone or e-mail-- and that really stinks!!! I am even willing to pay sanction fees for my breeds to help encourage entries!

The city is listed under the show itself, where it says the club and then open or youth, or a specialty. NOT the city that is listed with the secretary. All of the cities are listed on the events that I see for my area. :)

Not trying to heap salt onto an open cut, but I emailed the secretary of the OSRBA about the May mini-convention catalog, and she responded by the following morning. Often, the best revenge you can get on a club secretary who will not respond to you is to go to another show, put a healthy number of rabbits across the table, and practically dare the members of the other club to say something about why you didn't attend their show. You don't even have to be rude about it when you tell them why, and it usually gets the point across rather effectively.

Also, many local clubs now have websites. Google search it and find their show sites.

Most every area anymore has a district facebook page or even a district web site with links to the catalogs.
