How do I enter my rabbit in an ARBA show? I looked on the website and I found 2 shows that I'd like to enter one of my rabbits in, but I can't seem to find where to enter.

Do I talk to the secretary of the show?

Do I have to be registered with the ARBA to enter in an ARBA sponsored show?

Where do I find the price for the entree?

What does "sanctioned" mean?

(please forgive all my questions. I've never done this before, so I'm trying to find out as much as I can :( )

Your rabbit needs an identifying ear tattoo and usually there is a time listed for registering and the first few breeds showing if it isn't a breed specialty show. Get there that morning and fill out the card with your rabbit's info. Then you sit around till your butt goes numb and your coffee wears off to have your breed called. That's how it always works here. Why do I not go to shows again? :p: Nothing is usually needed besides your tattooed rabbit that matches the standard for the breed and a few bucks. Fair shows are different and you would have to look up the rules. Sometimes you do enter ahead of time and might have to keep your rabbit there for part of the fair.

Our club emails a show brochure out to the members beforehand with an entry deadline, usually a week before the show date.

Most shows will have a web page or flyer. For example, I am attending the Canton, TX show on Sept 6, and it is hosted by the East Texas RBA. They have a website http://etrba.weebly.com/september-5th-6 ... on-tx.html This page tells me it is a pre-entry show, so I have to e-mail my entry by Sept 1. Other specific information about the show is in the flyer. There is always a list of breeds that are already sanctioned in the flyer. If you have a popular breed, they are most likely already "sanctioned." That simply means the breed club will be keeping up with the placement and points for their sweepstakes. The Grand Champion legs have nothing to do with the sweepstakes points. They are separate. (Took me a while to understand this.) Sometimes the information is not available until about 30 days before the show.
