How do I get Lops?

Can you explain lop genetics to me? I have been trying to make a Rex coated lop eared bunny. Rather casually, as I have only had three litters so far. Paired a pure Mini Lop to a pure Mini Rex and got three up eared girls.
Bought an up eared Mini Rex x Holland Lop cross. Bred him to one of my mix girls. Got an up eared Rex coated Buck. Bought a standard Rex x Holland lop doe. She had siblings that lopped and she had an airplane ear as a baby. Bred her to my Rex mix Buck got a lovely litter of six. Half have Rex coats, no sign of any lop ears. Thinking of holding back the best Buck from this litter and buying a pure Mini Lop doe for him. I probably won’t breed again for another couple years but what would be my best bet for when I do?

that's the short cut.
but really you want to breed lop-eared parent to child. and then outcross that child to the mini rex and keep crossing them back and forth until you get what you want.

I’m not sure how many generations it will take, but I’m currently working on that myself. I bred a Rex mom to a mini lop dad and took the loppiest boy and girl and kept them. Then I bred a mini lop mom who’s bigger to a rex dad and kept the loppiest boy and 2 girls. They have long very soft fluffy fur and some are very lopped and some have airplane ears. However their fur is long and very fluffy. The kits from the two sets are unrelated. Now when they get of age I’m going to breed them together and hopefully I will be closer to the velveteen Rex with their kits. If not I will probably take my loppiest ones and add more Rex to the next batch.

From what I've heard, lops are multiple genes, so there's no genetics strategy to use like there is with color. Just straight up pick the best to breed with the best. I've brought in some lop angoras that I'm hoping will show up in future generations (because they're fiber bunnies so I don't show) and so far the most I've gotten is wider set upright ears
