Fiance and I rode my mare a bit today. She tested each of us, again. We aren't pros, more like, advanced beginner [me] and total newbie [fiance]. She suddenly trotted up the hill and scared the crud outta me! Lol.
So, I finally picked out a protective vest and a helmet. I just need to wait until my bank shows the $20 I have to add before I can buy them.

....... I just remembered I had taken a bunch of new pics of my mare....which are now gone because of the hd failure.... :cry_baby:

Ugh, here's a pic from last year to compensate...

Pretty girl
I don't have them any more as my horse of 7 years passed away last year.. They're too expensive. :( I'd love to have them again but I can't justify the cost. I would like to go back to having lessons regularly though. I've ridden both english and western for 12 years, my favorite discipline is Dressage.

I only pleasure ride, english tack.
Our two are easy keepers, I trim their hooves and have 5 acres of pasture to feed them. A grands worth of hay lasts two years for them, the pigs and sheep. I worm them, shots, coggins and teeth the vet does. Isn't too bad, but if I had to board, feed and shoe, I could never own a horse...

Sorry about your horsie!

I had a horse many moons ago. I miss her. I'm with Cali, they're too expensive now for my life.

Glad you're enjoying yours CnB! Did I miss their names?

I have a horse :) Im lazy and dont ride as much as i should though. And my back acts up after riding...but not when i ride just afterwards.. hehe

If you cant buy both the vest and the helmet, go for the helmet.

__________ Sun Feb 24, 2013 8:40 am __________

Oh and pretty white horse :)

She is beautiful..........and it looks like you probably have some really nice land to ride on too! :) Years ago I had a mare that looked exactly like yours, and she was awesome! I could do anything with that horse! She had an accident, and severely cut her tendons in her back legs. It healed, but not to the point she was usable for anything more than light duty riding. I gave her away to a family who wanted a horse for their young daughter to learn on, around the yard. It was the perfect place for her!

I've had horses my whole life, but right now I've only got my two little ponies. Spot is only 39" tall, and Cody is 42". We always tell people they are our "big dogs" because they are little pocket ponies.

Oh, those are such adorable ponies, fuzzy! What I wouldn't give...

These are my two horses that I have right now. The appaloosa is a 22yr old gelding, and the sorrel is a 10yr old solid paint mare.

And these are my two horses from the past (though one wasn't really "mine") The bay roan is flashy 10yr old QH gelding, and the black morgan is 28yr old mare that was put to sleep. :(
