Can't seem to get my girls pregnant. How can I go from being overrun by babies so easily to it being like pulling teeth just to get a couple of litters only to have half of them die mysteriously. I have one group almost to butchering age and a small younger litter...that's it. I should have babies everywhere. I don't I finally just bred almost all of them at once hoping something would take. I even decided to go ahead and try breeding one of my crosses I let get to adulthood because I didn't want to process just one. Figured if my breeders aren't doing their job, I might as well take my chances with her. I am about out of rabbit in the freezer, I think I have a package of tenders left. My fryers will be ready soon, but there aren't many of them. My goal is to have enough to eat rabbit twice a week and stock up for summertime, but at this rate, I'll be lucky to have once a week rabbit meals and be SOL during the hot months. Grrrr. Please cross some fingers and toes and whatever send whatever fertility blessings you know to my does. I have 4 possibly bred due soon and put 3 in with bucks yesterday. One doe is a little underweight after weaning, so I'm letting her sit this one out. One other doe is on her third strike after missed attempts with both my main bucks. Come spring, I might be looking for some replacements. I can't fathom going back to buying chicken from the store. I really need them to start pulling their weight.
