Hi, posted here before but forgot my login info. I'm looking for a holland lop but not sure if this is a holland or mini. I don't know the weight. The bunny is 2 months old. Thanks for the help.

They can be hard to tell at that age. Minis mature around 6-6 1/2 pounds....Hollands usually mature around 4lbs, but you have to also consider true and false dwarfs. If they don't know and you really do want a Holland Lop as a pet, why not purchase one from a reputable breeder that raises them and purchase a pet quality one?

Thanks. Not too many holland breeders close. Ones within 2 hours sell show rabbits not pets. 100.00 is a bit much for me.

That is a mini,
Mini lops have pointier noses and longer ears than Hollands, Hollands have flat faces and ear that go a little bit longer than there chin. I have holland lops and there are the best!

Holland lop

Senior bucks and does- 6 months of age and over, not over 4 pounds.
Junior bucks and does-under 6 months of age. Minimum weight 2 pounds.

Mini Lop

Senior bucks and does- 6 months of age and over, weight 4 1/2 to 6 1/2 pounds. Ideal weight 6 pounds.
Junior bucks and does- Under 6 months of age, weight not over 6 pounds. Minimum weight 3 pounds.

^ Hollands can have snipey faces and longer ears. Not all will have short, teaspoon shaped ears.

This is one of my Mini Lop herd bucks. On his head alone, he could easily be mistaken as a Holland.

Holland usually pose naturally upright (If they are bred correctly, the head will sit on the shoulders naturally without someone holding it up) ...but I also have Mini's that like to be difficult and act like Hollands

Another Mini Lop buck that looks like a Holland but really a junior Mini Lop buck.

The two can look very similar as juniors.

But if it's just a pet, just look for temperament. Some people like to also cross Holland bucks to Mini Lop does for larger pet litters.

that bun could easily be one of my holland lop kits.

hard to tell at this age, and if for a pet home, doesn't really matter.

Buy for temperament.

Thanks for all the input. I had a holland before and that's why I wanted one. The smaller breeds tend to have more spunk. They don't seem to know much bout he rabbit. That made me leery of it. They haven't attempted to sex it. I know it can be hard that young but they could try. I like to know what I'm getting. There's a holland about an hour way. I may look into that one. Not sure but seems like a possible breeder or she's getting out of it. Says he's litter trained and friendly. We'll see.
