I'm a Holland Lop breeder in Central Arkansas. I am posting in hopes of possibly finding someone who is located in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, South Carolina that is going to the 2012 Holland Lop Nationals this April in Washington State and would be willing to transport some rabbits to me from another breeder on the way back. Please just email me and let me know if you or someone you know is going to Nationals and is okay with transporting. Transportation is much nicer than shipping since it is easier on the bunnies, and it also helps the person transporting with the trip/show costs. I would much rather pay a breeder to transport than an airline.

Please be aware, New regulations in Washington State indicate all rabbits will need Health Certificates-. This can make it quite expensive to show your animals....

Wow, I wasn't aware of this. I know that the cost of travel will be kinda spendy since it is further away this year, but I guess that could be another set back for people considering going to Nationals.
I know there are so pretty committed breeders out there that might still be going no matter what, so I just thought I would get that out there and hopefully help cover that persons costs through transportation fees.

what is really sad-- It seems the ARBA is just telling people to go ahead to a show-- to not worry about any interstate movement regulations--- The people that are watching these regulations pass, and not be interpreted, are being very careful- because, right now, there ARE NO EXCEPTIONS as to the purpose of the trip (show, slaughter, sale) or to the species
so, if one is going, do not hide the animals, but be aware that the regulations DO exist-- and plan accordingly--

Oh, crossing borders via back roads does NOT make the trip any less hazardous-- you can be stopped ANYWHERE, and out-of-state plates are always a target for Law enforcement officers..
