I have 2 Holland x Lionhead cross kits. They are almost 5 weeks old.
The two have seemed very similar in size up until the last few days. It's like suddenly the black one is growing at a faster rate. Not just weight but larger head, ears etc.
I got them out today and weighed them and took photos and was surprised by how much larger the black one actually is. The Chestnut weighed in at right about 10 oz while the black one weighed 17 oz. Both are active and healthy.
As many will know, I'm more of a newbie in all this rabbit raising.
Does this mean that the black one did not inherit the dwarf gene?
Is this typical for some in the litter to not inherit it?
I want to make sure I understand. Wondering how I'd estimate what it's full grown weight might end up as. Thanks a bundle. Here is a photo of the two:

Dwarfism seems to be tricky. I am currently raising Lionhead x MeatMutt litter of 4, and did a lot of research before breeding them. They are 11 days old and all seem more less the same age. Statistically there should be 2 regulars, 2 dwarfs. However, many people say it is impossible to tell true from false dwarfs in some cases and it is the case with my Lionhead buck (too big for a dwarf and too small for regular I guess).
