Herd Size!

So we are up to 21 senior does, 4 bucks and 40 junior does. This doesn't count litters or the angoras (supposedly sold).

We have 4 litters at the farm, four at home and 6 does due. yikes

I wish I had the space to have a larger herd. I have currently cut down to four bucks and four does with two litters totalling 11 six week old kits. I know I have too many bucks but my two seior bucks are doing well and I have a son of each one that I just can't seem to butcher for some reason (I'm an old softy!). One almost went to camp with his sisters this weekend but he's a friendly little guy and, well....

bucks are irresistible - which is apparently why I have mostly males living here ... LOL

We are fortunate to have just shy of 40 acres. most is pasture. it will be home to about 300 geese, 200 turkeys and a flock of ducks--when it stops pouring rain.
