We have Haystaching going on, and it's just so darn cute:). Does pulling fir usually happen at the same time? Mine hasn't done any of that this time around yet....

Mine will haystash anywhere from a day or two before, sometimes even 2 weeks before pulling hair. I have one that will pull a couple/few days early, but most within 24 hours of kindling. I love watching them though - it's too cute!

It is! She didn't do it long enough for me:(. I could have watched her all day, but I put the remainder of my hay in her cage and she quickly moved it all into the nestbox, in a matter of 15 minutes or so. I left to buy more hay and when I put more in she just sat there, lol.....I'll watch for her to pull fur and see how many days are inbetween.....

I don't know why but I agree....it's super cute.

We're on baby watch with one doe tonight....day 31 tomorrow and hopefully not a repeat of last time with 24 hrs inbetween stretched kits :( She lost both and I swear she moped for a week, poor girl.

I wonder if it ever gets boring and I won't be waiting anxiously for each new arrival?

I have one rabbit who will pull the smallest amount of fur a couple days before giving birth, and then, just before birthing, as in 10-15 minutes before, sh will go nuts pulling fur, and continue to pull even more after the kits are born.

Also have a black steel mini lop who I have never actually seen pull fur. I can check on her in the evening, and see nothing, but first thing the next morning her nest box will have babies and enough fur to have been pulled from 25 rabbits. Have no idea where she gets it all from. I mean, literally, its like her nest box grows a super afro.

That's interesting! With our first litter, ours had a false pregnancy prior to her actual one, and the nest was left in tact so I never saw how the real thing worked. It's amazing how fast it all goes yet how exciting it still is! I'll keep ya all posted!
