They look good, Shannon. Don't worry overmuch about the staining. Rabbits clean themselves up pretty well once they are in clean surroundings. Glad you were able to get the meat rabbits you wanted. :)

They are GORGEOUS!

Thanks, Sommrluv! I am so excited to have them. I am at work right now just watching the clock till I can go home and work with them!

:) I'm glad you found what you were looking for. I haven't seen any californians around here, just NZ and Dutch. I have just about the max I can handle I think, so that keeps me from being too jealous, lol!

See, and those two are hard to find around here! I have seen a few folks with NZW or Dutch, but none that I would buy rabbits from...I have issues with folks that try to raise 20 different breeds, all together in a crowded, unsanitary area, with tiny hutches made from chicken wire and hardware cloth...

Congrats Shannon! :D Looks like a wonderful bunch you have there! What a lucky find for you.

Congratulations on your find. I had a hard time finding them in my area. I ended up finding a breeder on Rudolphs Rabbit Ranch website. I am still hoping to add another doe or buck from another line. My New Zealand just had 10 kits! The other doe did not take and seems to not like the buck at all.

In oregon and washington, there is at least one or two breeders of quality meat rabbits of just about every breed.,,,,,,then there are lots people that have a few nice purebreds and breed them with flemish giants and sell the mutts. What are these people thinking?

Then there are dwarfs everywhere you look.

I suppose its going the way of dogs and cats, people just want babys. I think its its irresponsible for people to take the meat rabbits and just breed mutts. If your gonna butcher the mutts yourself , thats one thing , but to sell them the way people do, thats wrong. I dont think people are smart enough to figure out that those mutts are NOT better meat rabbits.

dutch rabbits are getting harder to find here also.

Wow, you resurrected a :zombiebun:

This was close to a year ago that I was given these rabbits....and they have been an asset to my herd. Big Mama, Little Mama, Big Daddy, Stu and Mocha were all from this bunch and they have given me SO many nice babies! It really was a huge blessing for me.

well, the thing with hard to find meat rabbits is even worse now,,,,and still everyone here wants to keep breeding the flemish into their meat rabbits.

I'm happy with my "little bricks", the best of both worlds :)

I was interested in FW, but there are NONE anywhere to be found around here....

I hear that, finding good rabbits up here is work too. I can find rabbits, including the breeds I want but finding the right ones......not so much. I'd walk over somebody to find Rexs like those blues of Sky's.

I 2nd that motion MaggieJ Picts and also Congratulations to Both Fid and OneAcre on your Finds :) wooo hoo to both of you

Wish I could get one of my dog people to take rabbits back to Canada, except everyone I know in Canada lives on the other side.
