Hey all! I have been looking for good rabbitry resources that have numbers, actual facts and helpful information in them...I have "The Rabbit Raising Problem Solver" by Karen Patry, which I love!!! But I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this: http://www.raisingrabbitsebook.com/raising-rabbit/ (and here is the second page after you press "order now" and they try to reel you into more options http://www.raisingrabbitsebook.com/learn-more-about-raising-rabbits/). Do you think this is a trustworthy source? I am slowly saving up money for resources like this, and although I have some time to wait before purchasing, I was trying to scope out some of the best resources. Thanks again for all of your help. :D -Quinn

To be honest the only person you're going to help is the persons bank account that's selling this stuff. You have the best resource for raising rabbits right here and it's FREE. I wish this was around 45 years ago when I started and I wouldn't have spent my money on these types of books and could have put it towards my rabbits.

Use us, we love to talk rabbits! Put your saved up :money: in your herd.

:yeahthat: I have a several of the "go to" books. I've learned way more from everyone here on Rabbittalk.

:yeahthat:

All that information is available on-line

Plus "one method fits all" doesn't work well in raising rabbits - or any animal for that matter, except perhaps bugs and fish :)

However, $40 for 6 books isn't an excessive amount (but it is an E-book which I'm not a fan of - I still prefer to read paper copy  )

PS be warned that if you give this company your e-mail they will NEVER stop sending you information - been there done that

Thank you everyone for all of your great advice!!! You are all awesome. I will definitely stick around on Rabbittalk. I need to get moving on my rabbit plans and get some rabbits so I can share some pictures:)...I am telling myself: patience patience patience patience patience...

GOOD! Because, I could not figure out that "one method" for fish...that is why they are all dead and buried, lol:).

I believe people tend to think that, if it's in a BOOK, it must be more 'valid' information. For example, you see two conflicting pieces of information, you look it up in your book and go with the whatever the book says.

In truth, it's more likely that there are different answers to fit different circumstances. The value of the combined folks here at RT is just immeasurable. SO may active members who have been raising rabbits for decades, right here willing to (mostly) answer our dumb questions. You can't beat that!! :)

I've never found books to be very useful resources for any one purpose. I have a few books on overall country living with everything from butchering animals to how to care and bury the dead. It's a starting point if you had no other resource. For as long as the internet is around it will always have more information on everything. (and there are endless arguments on how to raise a given fish)

If I was going to spend money on a book about raising rabbits, it would be "Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits". http://www.storey.com/book_detail.php?i ... 1603424561

I may get this book someday, but I pretty much just come here. :)

Also, as someone else mentioned, every time you post you get BunnyBucks. These can be redeemed in the Downloads section, where we have a nice assortment of old rabbit books.
